Adhiban won the first rapid game against Russian GM Evgeny Alekseev ... He lost the second, and drew both 10+10 games ... Adhiban went on to win both the blitz tiebreakers and was through to the second round ... One of the biggest upset of the day.

Sasi drew first Rapid game against Constantin but won the second Rapid game and completed victory.

Negi again started with win against Yuriy in Rapid game but lost the second Rapid game ... Yuriy then won both accelerated games (10 min + 10 sec) and completed victory.
