Goal Scored - Rupinder Pal Singh (IND) 9' PC, 54' PC and 56' PC and James Tindall (GBR) 62'

Pakistan bt South Korea 4-2
Australia bt Malaysia 2-1

At half-time we were leading 1-0 with goal through penalty corner conversion from Rupinder Pal Singh in 9th mins ... As usual we struggled in the defense, in the first half Great Britain earned 4 penalty corners and we earned 2 ... In second half we started offensively and managed to put pressure on British defense ... India earned 3 PCs in 10 mins and Rupinder Pal Singh converted 2 of them ... This was his first international hat-trick ... He converted 4th and 5th PCs in 54th and 56th mins ... After 3-0 lead our defense relaxed and British forward line take advantage scoring field goal through James Tindall in 62nd min ... It looks we played very good offensive hockey first 25 mins of the second-half.

After taking 3-0 lead we take usual rout of defending so in last 10 min Britishers were continuously attacking ... James Tindall missed easy chance in 64th min ... These r typical silly mistakes by Indian coaches over the years, over-defending ... Such silly mistakes cost us matches previously and we r still repeating those.

[R2] (1) Saina Nehwal (IND,4) vs Ayane Kurihara (JPN,30)

Surprising loss of Guru against lower ranked Malaysian ... In first 2 games he was leading from the start but gave chance for Wong to fightback ... In second game he had 2 match points at 20-19 and 21-20 but failed to convert.

Anup scored excellent easy upset win over top-20 Malaysian but he failed to repeat that performance against experienced Sony in the second round.

Kashyap also lost in the second round after wining first game against Frenchman ... Arvind Bhat had excellent opportunity to upset WR #15 Japanese ... He dominated in the first game and had 2 match points at 20-18 in the second round ... He failed to convert those and Japanese capitalized on that to won this game and then match.

So now only Saina remain in the draw ... Next she is facing #30 ranked Japanese player ... Considering her recent performance against Japanese player I would say tricky match for her.
