Our Asian Games campaign ended on positive notes ... India have recorded their best ever medal haul winning 69 medals in all ...The 15 gold medals equals the record set in 1951 and the 24 silver are the highest we have won in Asian Games history ... We are finished in eight spot in the overall medal's tally.

Performance wise, our shooters and athletes were superb ... In Athletics, we won record 19 medals, 7 Gold, 10 Silver and 2 Bronze ... The two medals in table tennis was a huge surprise ... In wrestling, I was hoping better performance but 2 Gold and 1 Bronze were satisfactory ... Also some good results in Bridge, Rowing, Equestrian, Sailing, Wushu and Kurash ... An individual notable performances for me, Amit Panghal was a Indian player of the games followed closeely by Tajinderpal Singh ... Fouaad Mirza in the equestrian was a breath of fresh air ... Ankita Raina in the tennis ... Neeraj Chopra and Tajinderpal Singh Toor in the athletics.
Otherwise our fancied teams were disappointing ... Mainly Kabaddi teams, Men's hockey team, Recurve archers etc.

Amit defeated reigning Olympic champion and World Championship silver medalist Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan to claim India's only boxing gold at 18th Asian Games ... Amit showed immense tactical brilliance, especially in defence with an excellent exhibition of his outright speed and power against fancied Uzbek ... Amit Panghal became only the eighth Indian boxer ever to claim a gold medal at the Asian Games.

In Bridge, Pranab Bardhan and Shibnath Dey Sarkar won a Gold in Men's Pair final ... Our other bridge pairs failed to win medal in their respective categories.

Our Squash women failed to repeat their performance from the semis and they lost in the final against Hong Kong easily ... Our women lost against the same opponent in the Pool also ... Still, creditable to see them winning a Silver.

In Men's hockey, we defeated Pakistan in close match ... We dominated the match but once again failed to score goals ... In last quarter, Pakistan scored but we managed to keep lead in last 8 minutes for winning a Bronze.

We ended with 15 Gold, 24 Silver and 30 Bronze.
