India is facing Japan in away match ... Tricky away match considering Japan is always tough in their own den ... We had close matches with them though we r having 18-3 win-loss record against them ... As top 8 teams were going to receive direct entry in 2012 London Olympics our women Recurve team take that in style beating France in the first round ... But they continued with their good run beating Denmark in quarters and scored huge upset beating World champion Korean team in the semis ... Now in the final they will meet host Italian team.

So with grabbing Olympics quota as a team - Deepika Kumari, Laishram Bombayla Devi and Chekrovolu Swuro - also earned 3 individual quota places.

Other hand our Recurve men team again failed on the big stage ... Due to poor qualification they seeded 10th and faced another Asian powerhouse China in the first round and lost by a point, 215-216 ... Then they had abnother chance as as a host Great Britain has a direct entry in Olympics, so after their qualification for the quarter-final one spot was available ... Play-off played between 8 losing first round nations ... Here also our men lost in the second round against Malaysian team, who grabbed Olympic quota place ... Luckily this time our Recurve men team will get another chance in June 2012, where all the teams who fail to qualify from World Championship will play and top 3 teams will qualify for Olympics.
