[SF] (1) Saina Nehwal (IND,3) bt (4) Eriko Hirose (JPN,13) 21-9 21-10

Saina successfully defended her Indonesia Super Series title, though not in convincing manner like last week at Singapore Super Series where she lost only a single game in the tournament ... With this win Saina completed hat-trick of titles in 3 weeks, India Open GP Gold, Singapore Super Series and Indonesia Super Series ... This was Saina's 3rd Super Series title and 2nd in year 2010.

In the semis she defeated Hirose in convincing manner losing only 19 points ... But after her inside 30 mins victory in semis Saina stretched by Japanese unseeded Sato for an hour long battle in the final ... After winning close first game Saina lost second game easily, may be lapse in concentration ... But in decider Saina came back strongly to won game dominatingly giving very few chances to Sato.

Saina Nehwal - “This is such a great feeling – defending my title and winning my third tournament. I think the Indonesia Open is the hardest tournament out of the three, perhaps because I’m already physically and mentally tired. Moreover, being the defending champion also puts some pressure on me. But overall, this is a great tournament.”

Though disappointing but expected loss of Sania ... Was hoping more fighting performance from her but after giving some fight in the first set she didn't give any trouble to Kerber in second set.

Sania broke Kerber in the first game of the match and take 2-0 lead but Kerber broke back immediately to make it 2-all ... In 9th game Sania had break point chance which she missed and Kerber broke her in 10th game to won firt set ... In second set Kerber was too strong for Sania and lost only 1 game to win match.

Doubles
[R1] Rohan Bopanna (IND)/ Aisam Qureshi (PAK) vs Phillip Marx (GER)/ Igor Zelenay (SVK)

Rohan won first set in tie-break, he didn't face a single break point on his serve in this set.

In second set Bemelmans broke Rohan's serve in 4th game to take early lead and then didn't give chance to Rohan break back to win second set.

Third set both players hold their serve easily until 3-2, in 6th game Bemelmans's serve stretched to duece ... In 9th game Rohan saved 2 break points and in 11th game he was down 0-30 before holding it ... In tie-break Rohan take mini-break on 6th point to lead 4-2 but Bemelmans broke back in 8th point to make it 4-all ... Rohan again take mini-break on 10th point nd then served to win the set and match in 1 hour and 48 minutes.

So with that Rohan qualified for maindraw of Halle tournament and facing WR #44 Thiemo de Bakker ... Last year Thiemo de Bakker played 1 tournament on the grass at s-Hertogenbosch and won first round as qualifier ... Otherwise his best reslts r on the clay, in 2009 he won 4 challengers on the clay and also at Davis cup had win over that time WR #13 Gael Monfils ... This year reached semis at Barcelona open ... So I would say Rohan having outside chance against this clay-court specialist.
