At 2011 World Junior Table Tennis Championships, Manama, Bahrain
[SF] (1) China bt (5) India 3-0
LIN Gaoyuan (CHN) bt GHOSH Soumyajit (IND) 11-2 6-11 11-8 9-11 11-6 (3-2)
SONG Hongyuan (CHN) bt DESAI Harmeet (IND) 11-5 9-11 6-11 11-5 11-6 (3-2)
WU Jiaji (CHN) bt GNANASEKARAN Sathiyan (IND) 11-13 11-6 8-11 11-3 11-8 (3-2)
After winning incredible match against South Korea, our boys received only 2 hours rest to take on mighty China.
Again Soumyajit Ghosh and also Harmeet Desai were top performers as both pushing their matches all the way ... However in this tie the star of the show was Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, who took Wu Jiaji all the way in the fifth like others.
Although truly tested for the first time in the tournament, China still did enough to ensure a safe passage through to the final ... They won 3-0 but a valiant effort by Indian boys.
