Heena Sidhu take advantage of getting lucky break of participation in this year's World Cup Final and won her first Gold medal in a world-level competition ... She had not even been shortlisted among the 8 qualified athletes but when 3 other international athletes withdrew their participation, she was called to compete thanks to the points she had gained in Changwon and Munich from 8th place finish ... Also Heena had never won a world-level competition medal before so really surprising win for her.
Heena qualified for the final on 3rd place with 384 points ... In the final after first 3 shots she was on the last place but after that she showed amazing consistency and shot 10 or more in 16 of her next 17 shots ... Which helped Heena for her first World cup Final title beating the reigning World Champion, Zorana Arunovic from Serbia.
In women’s 50m rifle 3-position event, our Lajja Gauswami missed Bronze medal by 0.3 points ... She qualified for the final on 5th position with 581 points ... In the final after falling behind Lajja tried hard to caught three-time World Cup Final gold medalist Wu Liuxi of China but her effort came short by 0.3 points as she finished on 435.5 points and at the same time Wu was on 435.8 points.
