GM Magnus Carlsen (NOR,2870) ½-½ GM Viswanathan Anand (IND,2775) (1½-1½)
This game fulfilled the promise of a thrilling fight for the World championship which ended in a draw after 51 moves ... Anand handled Carlsen's Reti opening strongly and had a chance of winning the game but he missed opportunity ... After that Calsen gave example of great defense under pressure of time control for salvaging the draw.
