At the FIDE World Chess Championship 2013, Chennai, India (November 9th to 28th, 2013)
Game Five
GM Magnus Carlsen (NOR,2870) 1-0 GM Viswanathan Anand (IND,2775) (3-2)
In game five, Magnus Carlsen broke defense of Anand in a Semi-Slav defense ... Carlsen wasn't too ambitious in opening play and happy with the tiniest of advantages ... He kept on pressing and trying before grabbing the first opportunity from small inaccuracies by Anand ... For a long time the game did seem to be heading to a draw ... After the first time control Carlsen was a pawn up but the position was still very drawish ... Surprisingly Anand played several inaccurate moves in the fifth hour and he failed to hold ... So with this Carlsen takes the lead in this Championship match.
