At 2010 Asian Games, Guangzhou, China

Today India won 4 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze medals that lifted India to 6th position in Medal Standing ... India is having 14 Gold, 17 Silver and 33 Bronze medals ... We r having total 64 medals so we improved past record of winning total Gold and total medals ... In 1982 Delhi Asian games we won 13 Gold medals in total 57 medals ... So with that we r finishing our highest place in standing, i.e. on 6th position with highest Gold medals and total medals ... Congratulation to Indian contingent for creditable performance after playing big tournament, Commonwealth Games, just before a month.

In athletics our Women's 4 x 400m Relay team - Manjeet Kaur, Sini Jose, Ashwini Akkunji and Mandeep Kaur - managed to repeat their Commonwealth Gold medal run ... Today they won taking lead of a second over 2nd place Kazakhstan ... Again Ashwini ran excellent 3rd leg and that helped Mandeep to kept lead over Kazak ... This was Ashwini's 2nd Gold medal after her 400m Hurdles victory ... In Women's 5000m Final our both runners gave personal best timing to finished on 2nd and 3rd position ... Preeja Sreedharan was just 0.40 sec behind Gold medalist clocking 15:15.89 and Kavita Raut finished on third with 15:16.54 timing ... Excellent result for Preeja and Kavita.

Otherwise disappointing performance in athletics ... In Mens 4X100 we missed Bronze by 0.01 sec ... We finished race in 39.10 behind Bronze medalist Thai, whoc clocked 39.09 ... Vijender sticked to basic in this bout and won all rounds with 2-0, 3-0 and 2-0 margin to won bout 7-0 to gave India their 2nd Gold medal in boxing ... In 64kg category our young boxer Santosh Kumar toued by Kazakhstan boxer Daniyar Yeleussinov ... Daniyar scored very impressive one-sided victory over Sanotsh Kumar, who wasn't inthe match from the start and lost 1-16 ... In Super Heavyweight Men's 91kg Manpreet Singh also lost easily against Syrian boxer Mohammad Ghossoun ... Mohammad didn't give Manpreet any chance in 8-1 win.

So in Boxing we finished with 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze medals ... I was expecting 3 Gold medals but overall satisfying performance by our bpxers.

In Kabaddi we won both men's and women's events ... This was expectation from the start but as expected both Iranian team gave us tough fight ... In Women's final we defeated Thailand 28-14 and Men's final we defeated Iran 37-20, where Iranians tried spirited comeback in second-half.
