At 2010 Asian Games, Guangzhou, China

Now we r having 16 medals; 1 Gold, 7 Silver and 8 Bronze ... We r still outside of top-10 medals winning nations.

Today in the morning we won 2 Silvers in the rowing ... Our Men's Four team - Anil Kumar, Saji Thomas, Ranjit Singh and Jenil Krishnan - finished second behind Chinese rowers ... In Lightweight Men's Four event our team - Lokesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar and Satish Joshi - finished second behind Japanese team .. They hold big challenge from Hong Kong team to won Silver.

In shooting Vijay Kumar won a Bronze medal in the men's 25 metre Center Fire Pistol final with with 583 and Omkar Singh finished on 8th with 580... Gagan finished 4th in the final of the men's 50 metre Rifles 3-Position final, his 8th shot of 8.3 pts cost him Bronze medal by 0.5 pts ... Men's trap team finished on 5th position with a total of 201 after the end of day one and in that Manavjit Singh Sandhu finished 5th with a score of 70.

In boxing in the men's +91 kg category Paramjeet Samota scored victory over experienced South Korean Park Sung ... Park Sung got disqualified after recieving 3 penalties when Samota was leading 9-4 in second round ... So with that Samota assured our first medal of boxing ... Suranjoy Singh moved to quarter final beating former junior world champion Korean Juseong 8-6 ... After 2 rounds Suranjoy was up 4-1 but in last round Korean made excellent comeback to win round 4-5 but Suranjoy managed to hold his attack to won this bout ... In mens 46-49kg category Amandeep Singh won his bout to moved into R16 when referee stopped bout after third countdown when he was leading 9-0 against Saudi Arabian boxer Fahad ... Next Amandeep is facing Pakistani boxer Mohammad Waseem ... In 56 kg category Chottelal Yadav lost against Japanese boxer Satoshi 4-7 after leading 2-1 after first round.

In golf Indian team made superb comeback ... Yesterday Abhijit Singh Chadha disqualified so his score was missing but on second day he scored 1 under ... Abhinav Lohan scored 2 under round and our Rashid Khan scored 4 under with 7 birdies and 3 bogeys ... So with 7 under second round Indian team moved to 3rd position 1 stroke behind Philippines with 4 over ... In individual ranking also Rashid Khan moved to 3rd position with 5 under.

In judo P. Anand's lost his quarter-final against Nabil Hassan of Jordan, 3-5 ... Latika Bhadari lost to a Thai, 0-6 ... Shantibala Devi also lost to a Chinese player, 0-13 ... And our challenge got over in judo with loss of Sandeep Kundu against Uzbek Akmal Irgashev in one-sided quarter final, 18-4.

In tennis Sania started with comfortable win, 61 60 ... Poojashree lost against 7th seed Kai Chen Chan, 26 26 ... In mixed doubles, Sanam & Rushmi win 75 63 in first round, next they r facing 6th seeds Japanese pair Hiroki Kondo & Yurika Sema in R16 ... 6th seeds Sania Mirza & Vishnu Vardhan will face local pair of Yan Bai & Sun Shengnan.

In womens squash our both girls had winning start ... Dipika Pallikkal defeated Chinese Jinye Gu, 11-4 12-10 11-1 ... Joshna Chinnappa defeated Philipino Jemyca Aribado, 11-6 11-7 11-4 ... Both having very tough round in second round, Dipika is facing WR #1 Malaysian Nicol David and Joshna is facing another Malaysian Wee Wern Low.

In mens squash Saurav Ghosal started with win against Kuwaiti player Ammar Altemimi, 11-4 11-4 11-5 ... Siddharth Suchde also started with win over Hong Kong player Siu Wai Dick Lau, 9-11 11-4 11-6 11-4 ... Now Saurav and Siddharth will face each other in quarter-final for place in the semis ... So another medal is sure this time in squash.

In snooker singles Pankaj Advani started with tight win against Qatar player Nisar Ahmed Safuddin, 4-3 .. In R16 Pankaj is facing local favorite Junhui Ding Other hand Aditya Mehta started with comfortable win over Lebanese Mazen Berjaoui 4-0 ... In R16 he is facing Taiwani player Yu-Lun Wu.

In badminton 4th seed Jwala and Diju lost against South Korean pair Shin and Lee in 3 games, 21-17 13-21 16-21 ... In singles Arvind Bhat lost against Boonsak Ponsana 19-21 12-21 ... Shocking defeat of Saina our genuine medal hope ... Feeling sad to see this result ... Saina lost first game against Hong Kong player cheaply but made strong comeback winning second game easily ... In decider Pui Yin Yip played smart game to complete upset win, 8-21 21-8 19-21.

In table tennis doubles Sharath Kamal and Saha lost against South Korean pair in R16 ... In singles Sharath Kamal lost against Sang Eun and Amalraj lost against to Chih Yuan ... Shamini Kumaresan lost against Japanese Sayaka Hirano.

In women volleyball North Korean ream defeated Indian women in straight sets.

India finished on 6th position in 4 x 100 medley, Japan won gold after Chinese team got disqualify.
