Today in tennis India won a Gold and a Silver ... Somdev and Sanam won against local pair of 2nd seed Zhe Li and Maoxin Gong in STB, 63 67(4) 10-8 ... After winning first set easily in second set both pairs traded multiple breaks ... In tie-break Chinese pair was strong for our pair ... In super tie-break our pair take lead wit mini-breaks ... They had 4 match points at 9-5 but Chinese pair managed to save 3 before our pair converted 4th to won this match ... In this match Somdev was erratic but Sanam played exceptional tennis to helped India to won their 5th men's doubles Gold in a row ... In mixed doubles final Sania and Vishnu started well winning first set but from second set their game totally dropped down as Sania was committing too many unforced errors and second seed Chinese Taipei pair of Yung Jan Chan and Tsung Hua Yang take full advantage of it winning next set and STB easily, 64 16 2-10 ... In mens singles semi-final Somdev won first set easily against Tatsuma Ito breaking his serve twice ... But then Somdev lost 7 games in a row and in that his serve got broken 4 times to lose second set 0-6 ... At that time Tatsuma was controlling match and points ... In third set Somdev digged deep to come out of slump to finished match 6-3 ... In the final Somdev is facing top-seed and WR #40 Uzbek Denis Istomin.
In archery men's recurve team won Bronze medal like their women counterparts ... They won Bronze medal match against Chinese Taipei 220-216 ... Before that they lost against WR #1 Korean team in semis 216-222 ... In quarter final Indian team defeated Nepal 221-194 ... And in first round we defeated Bangladeshi team 221-186.
In boxing in Women's 48-51kg category Mary Kom scored dominating victory over Chinese Taipei boxer Meng Chieh Ping 16-2 to moved into semi-final ... In semis she is having tough challenge of local player Cancan Ren ... In Women's 69-75kg category Kavita Goyat won close bout against Kazakhstan Marina Volnova 8-7 to moved into semis ... She is also facing another local player Jinzi Li ... But in Women's 57-60kg category Preeti Beniwal lost her quarter-final against Thai Tassamalee Thongjan, referee stopped bout when Preeti got injured and she was 0-3 down when only 53 secs were remaining in the final round.
In boxing Men's 64kg category young 19 yrs old Santhosh Kumar Virothu scored victory in quarter final on more body punch counts after his match ended in 3-all against Mongolian Tuvshinbat Byamba ... After first round Santosh Kumar was leading 1-0 but Mongolian boxer made it equal after second round 1-all ... In final round both boxers earned 2 pts each but Santosh Kumar was ahead in body punches count to win bout and moved into semis ... Insemis he is facing Thai boxer Wuttichai Masuk ... But in Men's 46-49kg category Amandeep Singh lost his quarter final bout against Philippines boxer Victorio Iii Saludar 1-6.
In Kabaddi Women's Group B match India defeated Bangladesh 34-20 ... In this match Indian coach tried his bench stength in later stage of match.
In squash Men's Team Pool B match India registered their second win a row beating Japan 3-0 and in afternoon session they defeated Saudi Arabia with identical score 3-0 ... In Women's Team Pool B match India scored 3-0 win over China ... Women also scored 3-0 win over Pakistan in afternoon session match.
In chess our men team lost against Philippines team 2.5-1.5 ... Surya Shekhar Ganguly won his match but Harikrishna and Adhiban lost their respective matches ... Our women team scored crushing victory over Mongolia 3.5 ... They r tied for top spot with Chinese team ... Harika Dronavalli, S. Meenakshi and Nisha Mohota won their matches.
In athletics Hardeep Kaur finished on 4th in Women's Hammer Throw Final with 60.54 mtrs throw ... In Women's 400m Final Mandeep Kaur clocked 52.99 to finished on 4th and Manjeet Kaur clocked 53.27 to finished on 5th.
In Women's hockey India lost 1-2 against Chinese team ... So now they will face Japan in Bronze medal match.
Disappointing day in wrestling as in Men's Greco-Roman 84 kg category Manoj Kumar lost bronze medal match against Kyrgyzstan wrestler Janarbekand Kenjeev and Sanjay lost in first round of Men's Greco-Roman 74 kg.
In women volleyball Indian side take another one-sided defeat in hands of Chinese Taipei, 12-25 12-25 12-25.
