Asian Games News
At 2010 Asian Games, Guangzhou, China

Pankaj Advani won first gold medal for India in 2010 Guangzhou Asian games ... In very close final he defeated Myanmar's Nay Thway Oo 3-2 (33-100, 100-61, 12-101, 101-4, 100-45) ... Alok Kumar lost aginst Po-Cheng Kuo in semi-final of Men's 8-Ball Pool Singles, so he will settle with Bronze ... Snooker team consisting Yasin Merchant, Brajesh Damani and Aditya mehta moved into semis beating Chinese Taipei team 3-1 in quarter-final ... Tomorrow they will face Pakistani team to place in the final.

In shooting our wWomen's 10m Air Pistol team missed gold medal by a single points and Heena Sidhu also missed individual final by one place ... In Men's 10m Air Pistol Final, Vijay Kumar qualified for the final on 8th place but he scored best score in final round to won Bronze medal.

In tennis Sanam and Somdev won their respective singles matches in contrasting style to helped our Men team to entered into semis beating Thailand 2-1 ... Thai team won doubles match, Karan and Vishnu lost doubles against Ratiwatanas in 3 sets ... In semis we r facing top-seed Chinese Taipei team.

Our mens volleyball team had shaky start ... Before this they defeated Kazakhstan in straight 3 sets but here they lost first set 24-26 ... In second set also our team was struggling near net, their blocking was poor and making errors on serving ... Managed to lift game on crucial stage to won second set 25-23 ... In third set they played very improved game and controlled from the start to won 25-18 ... In fourth set Kazak players started with spirited game and were taking early lead ... But turning point of the set came when we were 10-15 down then we won 9 points on a row when Gurinder Singh was serving and that turned this set in our favor ... We won this set 25-21 and match in 1 hrs and 41 mins ... Tomorrow we r having crucial match against Doha Gold medalist South Korea.

So now we r having 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medals.
