In Athletics, we repeated 1 and 2 in Men's 800m after 1951 games ... After 36 yrs. we managed to win a Gold in this event ... Manjit Singh ran a race of his life to win a gold beating our current national champion and record holder Jinson Johnson ... In Mixed 4 x 400m Relay final, we won our first medal behind a strong Bahrain team ... We finished in the second position with a good run behind winners ... Our players failed to win a medal under Women's 5000m and Women's Javelin Throw.

In Compound Archery, we missed a huge opportunity of winning two golds in team event ... Our men team started solidly taking 4 pts. lead after 6 arrows but they had a poor second set of 6 arrows and Koreans equalized ... Again they took 2 pts to lead after 18 arrows but failed to score 10 in the final arrows ... Our last two arrows were 9 pts., if one of the arrows hit 10 then we would win a gold ... After final arrow, the score was 229-227 in our favor and Korean asked for rechecking/ recounting ... Koreans increased 2 points as two of their 9s changed to 10s, other hand Indian didn't get any points ... So score tied to 229-229, in the shoot-off, both teams scored 29 pts. but Korean had one bulls-eye shot which gave a gold to them ... And the Indian team settled to silver ... Our Women also missed chance as they started with a lead ... After 18 arrows both teams were 173-173 but our women struggled in the final 6 arrows and lost gold to Korea.

Sindhi failed to challenge WR #1 Tzuying Tai and won a silver as runner-up.

In Kurash Women 52 category, our Pincky Balhara and Malaprabha Jadhav won a silver and a bronze respectively ... Both players lost their matches against Uzbek girl, Gulnor Sulaymanova.

The first time we won a medal in the table tennis at Asian Games ... In the quarters, our men's team scored an upset win over higher ranked Japanese team to secure medal ... In the semis. they lost a close match against superior Korean players after giving fight ... Really happy for a veteran Sharath Kamal Achanta , who won a medal in his last Asian Games.

We have 9 Gold, 19 Silver and 22 Bronze.
