In Sailing, we had our best haul in the Asian Games with a Silver and two Bronze ... Varsha Gautham and Sweta Shervegar won a Silver in 49er FX Women category behind Singaporean pair ... Varsha and Sweta needed to take the court route for the selection after they didn't selected initially ... But winning this medal they showed that was a wrong decision ... 16 yrs. old Harshita Tomar won a Bronze in Open Laser 4.7 category ... She was well behind when last 6 races were remaining but she responded with top 2 finishes in last these races to win a medal ... Govind Bairagi finished on the 4th position in the same category ... And the 3rd medal won by Varun Thakkar and Kelapanda Chengappa Ganapathy ... They won a Bronze in 49er Men category.
Our women's hockey team failed to secure Tokyo 2020 Olympic quota as they lost the final against Japanese women ... Our women showed scoring ability in their previous matches but they struggled against Japanese women's solid defense ... Japan took an early lead through Shimizu on a penalty corner but Neha Goyal pulled India level in the 2nd quarter ... Japan won another penalty corner in the 3rd quarter and Kawamura made no mistake giving them the lead ... Indian women tried hard and could've equalised in the final minute but Vandana couldn't get her effort on target.
Vikas Krishan gave a walkover to his Kazakh opponent due to right eye injury in the previous match ... He settled with a Bronze.
Our Squash men's team settled with a Bronze after losing both matches to Hong Kong team ... In their last pool match, they suffered uncharacteristic loss against Malaysian team and that cost them a Silver medal.
Ramananda Sharma qualified for the final of Men's 3m Springboard and finished on the 12th position.
We have 13 Gold, 23 Silver and 29 Bronze.
