Discus thrower Krishna Poonia achieved the ‘A' qualification standard for the London Olympics with a throw of 62.25 meters and won the gold medal in this meet ... The ‘A' standard for Olympics is 62.00m. Poonia had just two days earlier crossed the ‘B' standard (59.50m) by throwing 61.12 metres at the same venue.
