[R1] (7) Vijender Kumar (IND) l Emilio Correa Bayeux (CUB) 9-16
In the first round both boxers played cautiously and tied 2-all ... From the second round Jai started attack on Lithuanian and won this round 7-3 to lead 9-5 ... In the third round also he kept pressure on Evaldas to won this round 6-3 ... So in end convincing win against 2010 Youth Olympics champion Evaldas Petrauskas ... Next he will face Czech boxer Miroslav Serban.
Vijender started tentatively and Correa take advantage to won the first round 4-1 ... In the second round Vijender matched Correa but still Correa won this round 5-4 to lead 9-5 ... Correa kept attacking and did not give chance to Vijender for comeback ... Correa won the final round 7-4 to complete victory with 16-9 final score ... Correa was struggling with injury after 2008 Olympics, so he didn't participate many international tournaments ... Considering this big lost opportunity for Vijender.
