Krishna Poonia achieved the objective of her 'training-and-competition' trip to the United States to qualify for the London Olympics ... Competing in the IAAF-approved competition at the Fling Throw meet in Portland, Oregon, Krishna produced four marks above the 60-metre mark, two of which soared past 61 meters ... Her best for the day was 61.12m, her season's best - way over the Olympic 'B' standard qualification mark of 59.50m.

Krishna Poonia is the 6th Indian athlete to make the Olympics grade after Vikas Gowda (discus throw), Mayookha Johny (triple jump), Tintu Luka (800m), Babubhai Panocha and Gurmeet Singh (both 20km walk).
