Only Vikas managed to win quarter-final ... With this he is guaranteed maiden medal in senior World Championship in his first attempt ... He won very closely fought match against Moldovan boxer Vasilii Belous ... Both boxers started cautiously and tied 2-all after the first round ... After the second round Vikas went nose ahead winning this round 3-2 ... In the final round both boxers tried but again round ended on 4-all but winning the second round helped Vikas to move in the semis.

What a performance from 19 yrs old young Vikas in his first senior World Championship ... Truly champion material and definitely contender for medal in 2012 London Olympics.

2011 Asian Champion and bronze medalist from 2009 World Championship Korean Jong Hoon Shin proved strong to young Devendro Singh Laishram ... In the first round Devendro gave tough fight before losing it 9-11 ... After second round Koreans take control, he won this round 9-5 to lead 20-14 ... In the third round Korean proved too strong for Devendro and lost round 8-2.

Manoj Kumar gave fighting performance against European silver medalist British boxer Thomas Lee Stalker ... British boxer won the first round 5-4 but he won the second round more dominantly with 11-7 to lead 16-11 ... In the final round Manoj tried fightback but Stalker did not lose control to win this round 8-7.

Jai Bhagwan lost in closely fought bout against Kazakh boxer Gani Zhailauov ... In the first round both players played cautiously and ended with 3-all ... In the second round also Jai played cautiously and that cost him this round ... Jai lost 2-3 and Gani take 6-5 lead in the bout ... In the final round Jai tried hard but Gani also matched him and this round ended on 5-all ... Jai lost this bout by 1 point.
