28 yrs old Shagun Chowdhary won 2012 Olympic quota for Trap Women after finishing 4th at ISSF Shotgun World Championship in Belgrade ... She become 9th Indian shooter to grab 2012 London Olympic quota.
This was Shagun's first final at Shotgun World Championship and ranked 21st in the world made it to the final round with career high 72 hits ... In the final she was leading the field when she shot 12 from 12 hits in the begining ... However after that she only managed 5 hits from her next 13 shots to finish outside podium finish.
The top 3 shooters had already won a quota place so she grabbed the only quota place to the Games by finishing in 4th with a total score of 89 hits ... She was followed by Australia’s Catherine Skinner, who also scored 89 targets but lost the Quota due to the “Count Back” rule; who misses first, ranks worst ... Creditable performance in her first final from young Shagun Chowdhary considering in the final she faced 3 former world champions and an Olympic bronze medalist
