Hockey News

The FIH announced today that India will no longer host the 2011 Men’s Champions Trophy due to ongoing problems with the governance of hockey in the country ... As a result of no longer hosting the Champions Trophy, India has been invited to play in the Champions Challenge to be held in South Africa in November.

Congratulation to HI and IHF for all the mess they created and living in it ... Due to their egos and stupidity we lost chance of hosting and participating in CT, but then who cares? As per report chances r high that we will lose the Olympic Qualifier also ... I think in near future they will achieve their main objective of KILLING Indian hockey completely.

Women
India l Japan 0-5

After disappointing draw against Japan in the previous match and more disappointing news of losing chance of hosting CT some news to cheers.

We defeated South Koreans 5-3 ... We were up 3-0 after first 7 mins and at half-time we take 4-2 lead with fast-paced hockey but again we conceded goal in dying minutes ... We need to avoid that ... Otherwise our team gelled well on the field and defended well.

Really good win by young Indian men against Koreans which will boost their confidence for next matches against Malaysia and Pakistan.

Other hand very poor performance by Indian women who were hammered by Japanese women ... Last couple of years we performed decently against Japanese girls but today's loss was hear-breaking ... After leading 2-0 at half-time Japanese women scored 3 more goals in the second ... With that we r out of playing in the final.
