In shooting Women's Double Trap team event our girls win Bronze medal ... But other shooters fail to rise.

Sawarn Singh must be complimented for putting up a brave effort in his Bronze medal effort ... The timing he clocked here to win the bronze, 7 minutes 10.65 seconds, was better than his performance at the London Olympic Games two years ago timing wise (7:29.66s) ... But the extra effort put by him in towards the end when he tried to ward off the challenge from South Korean rival Kim Dongyong, saw him collapse due to exhaustion ... He fell off the boat into the water, and had to be taken out by the rescue team to the ambulance.

Another Bronze medal win in rowing by our 8 men team by securing the third position behind gold medal winners China and Japan who crossed the finish line in 1:27.96 and 1:30.39 respectively ... The Indian team of Kapil Sharma, Ranjit Singh, 2010 single sculls gold medal winner Bajrang Lal Takhar, P U Robin, K Sawan Kumar, Mohammad Azad, Maninder Singh, Davinder Singh and Mohammed Ahmed started sluggishly to be trailing in fourth at the halfway stage before making the extra effort to clinch the bronze.

In Archery compound event, Our men are in the final beating Iranian in the semis ... They r facing top-seed Korean team ... Our women team lose in the semis so play in Bronze medal match ... In individual event Abhishek Verma is in the semi-final and Trisha Deb in the semi-final of women's event.

Indian tennis players Yuki Bhambri, Sanam Singh and Ankita Raina registered comfortable wins in their respective singles matches for entering into the pre-quarterfinals.

In badminton, Manu Attri and Sumit Reddy score huge upset win over WR #10 Chinese pair but in shocking result Sindh loses her match against lower ranked Indonesian player losing final game 20-22.

In boxing, 48kg category L Devendro Singh enter the pre-quarters after getting a walkover but in 64kg Manoj Kumar loses against Japanese boxer ... lost 1-2 to Japan's Kawachi Masatsugu.

In pathetic display our men's team lose against Pakistan in hockey ... In recent months we showed vast improvement in performance but here we played below level to lose this match ... Now qualifying for semi-final we need to beat China.
