At Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group I Relegation Play-off 2012, Chandigarh, India

India vs New Zealand 1-0

Day One
[R1] Yuki Bhambri (IND,179) bt Daniel King-Turner (NZL,382) 36 06 62 64 62
[R2] Vishnu Vardhan (IND,262) vs Jose Statham (NZL,317) 62 67(5) 64

Happy to see Yuki pulled off victory after losing first 2 sets ... He had poor body language in those two sets ... He was looking flat and was going through motions but from the third set he started to find his range of shots and played really well ... Again some patchy work in the fourth before controlling match in the fifth ... Really big experience for Yuki to lead India as top player and then producing comeback after two sets down ... Really be a big shot in the arm for his future.

From the start Yuki was struggling with his serve ... Yuki had a break point in 6th game but failed to convert it ... From here Yuki lost next 9 games ... Those 9 games were worst played by Yuki while I ever watched ... From third set Yuki raised his game and broke Turner in 5th and 7th games to win this set ... In 4th set, Yuki broke Turner in 1st game and kept that advantage to take match in the fifth ... In the final set again Yuki broke Turner in 1st game and was serving better ... Yuki take another break on Turner's serve in 7th game to lead 5-2 ... Won the match with fabulous drop shot from middle of the court.

In the second match Vishnu started with bang and was winning free points on his serve ... He take early break to lead and then again broke Jose in 8th game to win the set ... From middle of the second set Vishnu started to struggle on his serve and giving few points through errors to Jose ... Jose take advantage of it to win the second set in tie-break ... In the third set Vishu take early mini-break and kept that advantage to win this set ... Match suspended due to bad light.
