Arjun Atwal won Wyndham Championship on PGA tour to become first Indian to win PGA tour title ... Arjun Atwal became first golfer in 24 yrs to won PGA tour event as a Monday qualifier after Fred Wadsworth did it at the 1986 Southern Open.

After leading or sharing the lead after each of the first three rounds, Arjun shot a 3-under 67 in the final round to finished at 20-under to win tournament ... His $918,000 winning cheque was more than double the amount he previously earned this year, the reason why his future on TOUR had been in trouble ... At one time seven players shared the lead at 18 under but Arjun birdies on 16th secured him crucial lead and he PAR last hole and kept his nerve to fulfill his dream.

Arjun Atwal - "I told my caddie, 'We've got nothing to lose this week. Just go out there and try and win it. Guys are going to be out there trying to secure their FedExCup spots or whatever. We've got nothing. I don't have a card. I don't have anything. Just go out there and free-wheel it, and that's what I did this week."
