Commonwealth Games 2010
At XIX Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi

On day 8 we managed to win 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 6 Bronze medals ... India remained on 2nd place with 30 Gold, 23 Silver and 28 Bronze medals.

In athletics Indian athletes created history in discuss throw winning all 3 medals ... Krishna Poonia became first Indian woman athelte and only 2nd Indian athelete to won Gold medal in last 52 yrs ... Before this Milkha Singh (1958, Cardiff) won a gold in track and field events.

In shooting Tejaswini Sawant and Meena Kumari won Bronze in Pairs 50 m Rifle Prone Women.

In boxing our 3 players reached in the final Manoj Kumar (64kg), Suranjoy Singh (52kg) and Paramjeet Samota (+91kg) ... But shocking defeat of Vijender Singh (75kg) against British boxer Anthony Ogogo 3-4, where Indians raised protest as Ogogo's 4 points came through warnings handed to Vijender in the third round by Canadian referee Michael Summers ... Also losses of Amandeep Singh (49kg), Jai Bhagwan (60kg) and Dilbag Singh (69kg) ... So these 4 boxers need to remain happy with Bronze.

Our Badminton players r moved into next round ... Chetan and Kashyap r in singles semis but Jwala and Divij lost in MXD quarters.

India defeated Canada 3-0 to finished on 5th position in womens hockey.
