Excellent start for our players ... From start in this match Anand Pawar was falling behind and needed to catch his Danish opponent ... After losing first game Anand was down 13-16 in second game but from 15-17 he won 6 points on a row to make it 1 game all ... In decider Anand was up 2-0 before Vittinghus won next 10 points from 3-all to take 3-13 lead ... Instead of giving up Anand kept fighting to make it 14-15 but Vittinghus managed to keep lead ... At last Anand caught with him at 19-all from 17-19 ... Vittinghus saved a match point on 20-19 then Anand saved match point at 20-21 and then Anand converted 2nd match point to complete amazing comeback victory in 57 mins.

In other match Kashyap continued with his good form from CWG 2010 ... He won his match in straight games ... In second game he saved a game point before winning match in 38 mins.

Ajay retired from his match after playing a single point ... Hopefully no serious injury scare ... Chetan lost his match after winning first game against similar ranked player.

Commonwealth Games 2010
At XIX Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi

On last day India won 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals to finish their medal tally for CWG 2010 to 38 Gold, 27 Silver and 36 Bronze medals.

Due to 2 Gold medals India finished Second behind Australia in final standing, pushing England to thrid place ... This is India's best finish in Commonwealth Games and first time Indian contingent won total more than 100 medals in this event ... Well done guys.

In last event of the day Saina scored exciting comeback win over her 2nd seed Malaysian opponent to secure Gold medal ... After losing first game she was down 20-21 ... She saved that Gold medal point and then won next 3 points to make it 1 game all ... In decider she take control from the start to win Gold medal, 19-21 23-21 21-13 ... Saina's Gold medal secured our 2nd position in the final standing.

In women's doubles Jwala and Ashwini defeated their Singaporean opponents in straight games to won Gold medal ... From start they managed to keep pressure on their opponents to complete win 21-16 21-19.

Reaching final India already secured their first medal in hockey in CWG ... But today Australian gave very tough and hard lesson to our team ... They scored 4 goals each in both half to handed worst ever defeat to Indian team ... Feeling really sorry for our Indian team as in other matches they performed lot better.

In table tennis we won 2 Bronze medals ... Sharath Kamal Achanta won Bronze beating his teammate Soumyadeep Roy in straight sets, 11-8 11-5 12-1011-9 ... Earlier Mouma Das and Poulomi Ghatak won their Bronze medal match comfortably against Australian pair in 12 mins, 11-4 11-7 11-1.

In boxing Suranjoy Mayengbam of India has won the flyweight final after a walkover from his opponent ... In end day 9 turned remarkable as our atheletes did unthinkable ... They won 1 Gold and 4 Bronze medals on same day with a Gold and 2 Silver medals in shooting ... So our overall medals r 32 Gold, 25 Silver, 32 Bronze.

In Atheletics what a performance by our atheletes ... Our women won 4x400m Relay race coming from behind to gave India 1st Gold medal in track and field event after Milkha Singh's gold medal in 1958 at Cardiff in 440 yards ... We won Bronze medals in men and women event of 4x100m Relay ... Renjith Maheswary won Bronze medal with national record in Triple Jump ... Also Kashinath Naik won Bronze in Javelin event.

In Pairs 10 m Air Pistol Women top 3 teams ended on same points ... In perfect 10 score India and Austrlia ended on equal shots but India pulled Gold on shoot-off.

In Singles 50 m Rifle Prone Women all top 4 shooters broke previous commonwealth games record ... So in this tough scenario Tejaswini won Silver.

Despite poor shooting by his partner Samaresh Jung helped India to win Silver in Pairs 25 m Standard Pistol Men.

In mens hockey India defeated England 5-4 (3-3) in tie-break in exciting match ... India take early lead through Saravanjit Singh with rebound on penalty corner but British side scored 3 goals on penalty corners ... 1st on first-half hooter then 2nd on 41st minute through Ashley Jackson and then another in 45th minute to take 1-3 lead through Simon Mantell ... After falling behind Indians kept trying and they scored 2 field goals in 5 minutes to make it 3-all ... 2nd goal scored by Vikram Pillay and equalizer another from Saravanjit Singh ... After that both teams failed break dead-lock in normal and extra times ... In tie-break Glenn Kirkham penalty excellently saved by Bharat Chetri gave superb win for India ... So first time in commonwealth games India is in hockey final, they will face world champion Australia for Gold medal match.

In badminton Saina Nehwal reached final beating 3rd sed Scottish player Susan Egelstaff, 21-10 21-17 ... In the final she will face 2nd seed Malaysian Mew Choo Wong ... Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnapa reached in the final scoring comeback win over Australian pair, Kate Wilson-Smith and He Tian Tang, 12-21 21-13 21-11 ... They became first Indian pair to reach final in Mens, Womens and Mixed doubles ... In the final they will face top-seed Singapore pair Lei Yao and Shinta Mulia Sari ... But in mens singles our both players lost in the semis ... So Kashyap and Chetan will face eachother in Bronze medal match.

Commonwealth Games 2010
At XIX Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi

On day 8 we managed to win 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 6 Bronze medals ... India remained on 2nd place with 30 Gold, 23 Silver and 28 Bronze medals.

In athletics Indian athletes created history in discuss throw winning all 3 medals ... Krishna Poonia became first Indian woman athelte and only 2nd Indian athelete to won Gold medal in last 52 yrs ... Before this Milkha Singh (1958, Cardiff) won a gold in track and field events.

In shooting Tejaswini Sawant and Meena Kumari won Bronze in Pairs 50 m Rifle Prone Women.

In boxing our 3 players reached in the final Manoj Kumar (64kg), Suranjoy Singh (52kg) and Paramjeet Samota (+91kg) ... But shocking defeat of Vijender Singh (75kg) against British boxer Anthony Ogogo 3-4, where Indians raised protest as Ogogo's 4 points came through warnings handed to Vijender in the third round by Canadian referee Michael Summers ... Also losses of Amandeep Singh (49kg), Jai Bhagwan (60kg) and Dilbag Singh (69kg) ... So these 4 boxers need to remain happy with Bronze.

Our Badminton players r moved into next round ... Chetan and Kashyap r in singles semis but Jwala and Divij lost in MXD quarters.

India defeated Canada 3-0 to finished on 5th position in womens hockey.

On Day 7 India won 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze mMedals ... We again moved to 2nd place winning more golds than England, so after end of day 7 we are having 29 Gold, 22 Silver, 22 Bronze medals.

In tennis as expected Somdev won Gold medal beating 5th seed Australian Greg Jones comfortably, 64 62 ... In womens doubles Sania and Rushmi won Bronze medal beating Poojashree and Nirupama Sanjeev 64 62.

In wrestling we won 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medals ... Sushil Kumar won expected Gold medal but Anuj Kumar and Joginder Kumar lost summit match.

In Athletics India won 2 Silvers ... Vikas Gowda won Silver in Discuss throw and Prajusha surprised everyone winning Silver in Long Jump.

In Recurve Individual Women event 16 yrs old WR #4 Deepika Kumari won Gold medal ... She won all her matches comfortably to win this event ... Dola won Bronze medal beating Malaysian archer after losing semi-final to British archer ... In Recurve Individual Men Jayanta surprisingly lost one-sided to Canadian archer in semis but Rahul Banerjee didn't give a chance of slipping Gold medal from Indian.

In shooting Harpreet Singh won Gold medal upsetting other top shooter including senior Vijay Kumar in Singles 25 m Centrefire Pistol ... Vijay Kumar won shoot-off between 4 players to won Silver medal after 4 players ended on 574 pts ... Manavjit Singh Sandhu won Bronze medal in Singles Trap Men ... He qualified for the final tying for top spot but had poor final round and managed to win Bronze in shoot of against Australian Adam Vella ... But disappointing result for Suma Shirur and Kavitha Yadav in Singles 10 m Air Rifle Women, they finished 4th and 5th respectively.

In Badminton our players moved into next round with comfortable wins ... In boxing also our many players are in medal round, but disappointing loss of Manpreet Singh against Northen Ireland boxer due to 2 warnings, which cost him 4 pts and he lost 10-11.

In hockey India played very attacking game and defeated Pakistan 7-4, in half-time we were leading 4-2 ... So with that win we qualified for semi-final on 2nd place from Pool A behind Australia ... India will play against England in semi-final.

On 6th day India managed to win 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 5 Bronze medals ... In overall stading England overtake us and grab 2nd place ... Now we r having 24 Gold, 17 Silver and 17 Bronze medals.

Today we won 2 Gold medals each in shooting and wrestling ... Gagan won his 4th Gold medal and Vijay Kumar won his 3rd Gold medal ... In wrestling as expected Yogeshwar Datt and Narsingh Yadav won Gold medal in their respective categories.

In tennis, ladies final Sania lost against top-seed Anastasia Rodionova in 3 tight set, 36 62 67(3), Sania saved 4 match points but in tie-break Rodionova was too strong ... In mens doubles senior pair of Lee and Mahesh defeated Rohan and Somdev to won Bronze medal, 63 76(4) ... In doubles Sania and Rushmi lost against top-seed Aussie pair 46 46, now they will face another Indian pair Poojashree and Nirupama Sanjeev for Bronze medal match.

In hockey our men scored unimpressive win over Scotland, 4-0 ... We needed big win in this match to improve our goal average but our striker failed ... Dharamvir Singh scored 2 goals, Sarwanjit Singh scored one and Dhanjay Mahadik scored one on penalty corner ... Now tomorrow we need to win match against Pakistan for qualifying for semis, other hand Pakistan can move to semis after drawing with us ... Indian women scored victory over South Africa 3-1, 2 goals on penalty corners from Deepika Thakur and a field goal from Surinder Kaur, but still South Africa qualified for semis over better goal average.

In table tennis after losing in semis Indian men team lifted Bronze defeating Nigerian team convincingly.

Our boxers continued with their impressive performance ... Akhil won tough match against British boxer ... Suranjoy and Amandeep reached in the semis and assure medals for India.

Indian team showed vast improvement in their game defeating higher ranked Vietnam team ... What was more heartening that opur striker Sunil Chhetri found his scoring touch ... In this match he scored hat trick to helped our team for comfortable win ... In this match Indians played attacking game and had multiple opportunities to scoring but failed due to poor finishing ... After first goal everything changed and our forwards were looking lot sharp and accurate ... Last friendly of this series they will play against Yemen on 13th October.
Commonwealth Games 2010
At XIX Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi

Today India won 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 3 Bronze medals ... We still manage to hold 2nd position with 20 Gold, 16 Silver and 12 Bronze Medal.

Again our shooters won 3 Gold medals ... Gagan won his 3rd Gold medal, Vijay Kumar and Omkar Singh won their 2nd Gold medal.

In wresting our women won 2 Gold and 1 Silver medal.

In Archery women managed to win Recurve Team Gold medal but our WR #1 Men lost against Aussie in semis so they ende winning only Bronze.

Ashish Kumar created history in Gymnastic winning Silver medal in Vault event.

Our Women Hockey our team defeated Trinidad and Tobago 7-0 in Pool A match.

Our boxers moved into quarters with comfortable win.

In tennis Somdev and Sania r in singles final in contrasting wins ... In the final Sania is facing top-seed Australain Anastasia Rodionova and Somi is facing Australian 5th seed Greg Jones ... But in mens doubles our both top 2 seeds, Lee & Hesh and Somi & Bops, lost in semis ... Nirupama Sanjeev and Poojashree also lost in 3 sets against 3rd seed Aussie pair.

Commonwealth Games 2010
At XIX Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi

On 4th day we won 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze medals ... So now we managed to hold 2nd place on medals tally by thin margin, our tally in 14 Gold, 11 Silver and 9 Bronze medals.

Today in shooting we managed to win 2 Gold medals, which Vijay Kumar and Gurpreet Singh won scoring game record in Pairs 25M Rapid Fire pistol, Gurpreet Singh won his second Gold medal with another game record with Omkar Singh in Pairs 10 m Air Pistol ... But Ronjan Sodhi disappointed winning only Silver though he had good final round after poor qualifying, where he qualify on 5th position with 139 hits ... Most disappointing performance in shooting came from Tejaswini Sawant in 50 m Rifle 3 Positions Women, who failed to qualify for the final ... Lajjakumari Gauswami qualified for the final but finished on 6th position.

In Women's Freestyle only Geeta won Gold medal, we had one Silver and Bronze.

In Archery compound team event our men won Silver as they lost against England in the final and women managed to win Bronze beating Malaysian team.

Ashish Kumar created history becoming first Indian to win any medal in big international event in Gymnastics ... He won Bronze medal in Gymnastics Artistic Floor Exercise event.

In Badminton India team reached in the final beating England 3-0 in the semis after beating Canada 3-0 in quarter-final ... In the final we r facing top-seed Malaysia.

In table-tennis our men and women teams r in the final ... In the women final we r facing top-seed Singapore.

In tennis Somdev and Sania r in singles semis with straight sets victory ... Both will face Aussie opponent in semis ... In mens doubles top-ssed Mahesh and Lee had tough 3 set match, where last 2 sets went to tie-breaks, to reach semis ... Somi and Rohan joined them with straight sets victory ... Rushmi lost in singles quarter-final but in doubles she is in semis with Sania, they will face top-seed Aussie pair ... Poojashree and Nirupama Sanjeev r also in semis, they upset 2nd seed British pair in straight sets, now they will face 3rd seed Aussie pair in the semis ... In mixed doubles we faced shocking defeat of Gold medal hopeful Lee and Sania against unseeded Scottish pair Colin Fleming and Jocelyn Rae in quarters.

Our boxers contined with their good run moving into next round comfortably in their respective categories.

In swimming our 7 swimmers r in the semis.

Our hockey team lost poorly against World champion Australia ... Our defence was struggling and Bharat Chetri also had a bad day in goal keeping.

Commonwealth Games 2010
At XIX Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi

On 3rd day we captured 6 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze medals ... So Indian medals tally after 3 days is 11 Gold, 8 Silver and 5 Bronze.

Ravi Kumar Katulu won Gold medal in 69kg Men weightlifting with new commonwealth games record lift of 321.0 kg.

Rajender Kumar comfortably won Gold medal in 55 kg greco-roman ... Manoj Kumar lost final against Nigerian wrestler in 84 kg greco-roman ... Sunil Kumar only managed to win Bronze in 66 kg greco-roman ... Dharmender Dalal also lost in semis against Australian wrestler in 120 kg greco-roman but comfortably win Bronze medal match against Cyprus wrestler.

Our three shooters won 3 Gold medals and 3 Silvers ... Gagan Narang continued with his good form scoring perfect 600 pts in qualifying to again equalled the World record and his 5 points lead over Abhinav was enough to won Gold ... Anisa Sayyed made comeback after falling behind in Precision to win Gold medal and then Rahi Sarnobat made comeback in final round to beat Malaysian shooter to win Silver ... Omkar Singh also scored comeback win in the final round after falling behind in preliminary round to win Gold ... Ranjan Sodhi was off target in second round and that cost us Gold medal in Pairs Double Trap, where we lost to England by shooting 1 less clay bird.

In 58KG weightlifting Renu Bala comfortably won Gold medal.

In swimming Prasanta Karmakar won bronze medal in para sport 50m freestyle ... Indian men's team finished 7th in final of the 4x200m freestyle relay with timing of 7:46.18s ... Virdhawal Khade finished on 7th position with 24.61s in 50m Butterfly Men Finals ... But Virdhawal failed to qualify for final in 100m freestyle when his timing was 10th best in semi-finals.

In Badminton our team reached in quarter-final in mix-event keeping clean slate.

In tennis Somi and Sania reached in quarter-final with comfortable win but Rohan lost against 2nd seed Aussie Peter Luczak 26 67(5) ... Rushmi Chakravarthi scored upset win over British 3rd seed Katie O'Brien, 16 76 75, in comeback win to moved into quarters ... Other hand Poojashree Venkatesh, lost against 5th seed Guernsey player Heather Watson 67(6) 36 ... In doubles Sania and Rushmi entered into semis with straight sets victory, 61 76 ... Somi and Rohan scored emphatic victory against doubles specialist Scottish pair Colin Fleming and Jamie Murray, 63 61.

In table tennis our women team upset higher ranked Australian 3-1 ... Australian team was last 2 times Silver medalist.

Our boxers continued with their winning form to moved into next round.

Our Archery teams r in semis in team event.

Our women hockey team lost against mighty Aussie team in close match, 1-2 ... Now we need to win remaining matches with hefty goal margin to rach in semis.
