Our men's team lost their match against the Czech Republic team ... In the first doubles match, a Czech pair defeated Sharath and Harmeet in 4 games ... Sathiyan's poor run continued, he lost the second match against Sirucek in straight games and afterward, lost against a lowly ranked Tomas Polansky in 5 games ... Sathiyan's erratic form cost a place for the Indian team in Tokyo Olympic ... Sharath scored a comeback win after losing the first game and gave India their only point of the tie.
Our women's team challenge got over with a loss against the French team ... Again we lost our singles matches against lower-ranked French girls... Marie Migot defeated Manika Batra and Ayhika Mukherjee in 5 games for a thrilling win.
