Indians win 3 more Tokyo Olympics quota, a total of 15 quota places ... This is our best-ever Olympics quota haul in the shooting ... India had 11 shooters at the 2012 London Olympics and 12 in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
A super performance by our skeet shooters, they made history as first-time we won gold and silver at the Asian level to secure Olympics quota, these were India's 14th and 15th quota places ... Angad and Mairaj tied for the first position in the final and in shoot-off Angad won scoring 6 hits ... Before that, Angad and Mairaj struggled in the final round and they tied with 6 other shooters with 120 for 3 final positions ... Mairaj qualified on the 4th position (120+14+24) and Angad qualified on the last 6th place (120+14+12) ... But in the final, our both shooters performed above expectations to clinch 2 quotas from 3 available quota places.
A young 18 yrs old Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar secured 13th quota place for India in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men event ... Tomar is the second Indian after veteran Sanjeev Rajput, to have got the quota place in the 3P event ...
