Medvedev wasn't playing his best tennis but Prajnesh failed to take advantage of it as he hampered by twisted ankle ... Prajnesh started aggressively but lost his serve in the 1st game, he fought back to break Medvedev in the 4th game for 2-all ... At that time, Prajnesh ankle rolled and that affected his mobility on the court ... Medvedev again broke him and kept that advantage for winning the first set ... In the second set also, Medvedev broke him in the 1st game and again in the 3rd game ... He broke Prajnesh in the 7th game for winning the set comfortably ... The third set also went on the same script, but it would be a great experience for Prajnesh of playing against the top-5 player in the grand slam on the show court.

A creditable performance by Sumit against the 20 grand slam winner legend, Roger Federer, in his first grand slam main-draw match ... Sumit had a dream match against Federer in the night session but he didn't overwhelm by that and throughout the match kept control on his nerves ... Federer was an outright favorite for the match, he broke Sumit in the 2nd game and take a 2-0 lead but Sumit broke him in the next game as Federer committed a couple of double faults and troubled with Sumit's deep returns ... After that, both players held their service games till 4-all ... Sumit broke Federer in the 9th game when Federer struggled with 1st serve and then surprised him after holding his serve to take one set lead ... In the second set, Sumit took Federer to deuce on his serve but failed to break ... Sumit missed 4 game points and saved a couple of breakpoints but got broken, 0-2 ... Federer again broke him in the 4th game to lead 5-0 ... Sumit saved 6 set points in the 7th game and had a breakpoint also, but Federer converted the 7th setpoint for 1 set-all ... Federer broke Sumit in the 1st game to lead 2-0 ... He again broke Sumit in the 5th game to lead 4-1 ... Federer kept the advantage for winning the third set ... Federer again broke Sumit in the 1st game for 1-0, but Sumit kept fighting and broke Federer in the 4th game for 2-all ... In the 5th game, Sumit played lose service game and Federer again broke him to lead 3-2 ... After that, both players held their respective service game till 5-4 ... Sumit had 3 break point chances at 0-40 when Federer was serving for the match, but Federer showing his experience with hitting a couple of aces to make it deuce ... Sumit created another break point chance which he failed to convert ... Federer converted a first match point for completing a win in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

In the doubles, Rohan is playing with Shapo and they r having a tough match against the 4th seed French pair ... Divij is playing with Hugo Nys and they r facing the pairing of Carballes Baena and Delbonis ... Lee is playing with a new partner, Guillermo Duran ... They r facing youngsters Kecmanovic and Ruud.

Massive effort from Sumit. His return game is almost world class. If he can work on his service game, which I am sure his coaches will, he truly can stand tall (even @ 5.10 height) among the giants of the game just like Hewitt in the past & Kei Nishikori currently. All the best Sumit & thanks for making the whole of India proud on a global stage!
