Sindhu equals the record of legendary Zhang Ning by winning 5th medal-the most at the BWF World Championships after beating Tai Tzu Ying, 12-21 23-21 21-19, to enter in the semis ... Sindhu will win her 5th medal in 6 appearances.
Sai also creates history with his win against Jonatan Christie, becoming the first Indian male shuttler after 36 years to assure a medal at the BWF World Championships since Prakash Padukone last did it in 1983.

Tai won the first game comfortably but Sindhu raised her game from the second game ... Both players exchanged leads but in the latter part of the game Tai was doing the catching game ... She saved 3 game points at 20-18 and 21-10 but Sindhu converted the 4th game point to take the match in the final game ... In the third game, Tai took an early lead but Sindhu caught her at 14-all ... Sindhu won 2 points from 19-all for completing a superb victory over Tzu Ying Tai ... Next, she is facing a Chinese girl Yu Fei Chen.

Sai scored a straight-games win over Jonatan Christie ... In the first game, Sai won after saving a game point and converted the 4th game point ... On the second game, Sai opened 7-1 lead which he kept increasing for a comfortably winning it ... Next, a tough challenge of WR #1 Kento Momota.
