Our both table tennis teams create history after winning second division title for qualifying World Championship Division.
In the final our men's team missed Achanta Sharath Kamal due to injury but Harmeet Desai raised to occasion to help team for winning the title ... Brazil took early lead after winning first match, Soumyajit lost in straight games against Hugo Calderano ... In second match Harmeet Desai scored comeback win over Brazilian Cazuo Matsumoto from 1-2 games down ... Brazil won third match when Thiago Monteiro defeated Amalraj in five games ... In crucial match Soumyajit defeated Matsumoto in straight games ... In deciding rubber Harmeet defeated Hugo Calderano in four games for famous victory ... So in this tournament our men lose only one match in group stage against Nigeria and they took revenge beating same Nigerian team in knock-out stage.
Our women's team scored 3-1 victory over Luxembourg ... In the first match Mouma Das started with straight games win over Konsbruck ... In the second match Manika Batra defeated Gonderinger in four games ... Luxembourg came back winning third match when Sarah De Nutte defeated Shamini Kumaresan in straight games ... But Manika Batra kept her cool winning fourth match against Konsbruck in straight games and completed victory for Indian women ... So our women remain undefeated as this was their 8th win in 8 matches.
