At the 8th Tal Memorial Chess Tournament, Moscow, Russia
Round 05 – June 18 2013
Boris Gelfand (ISR,2755) 1-0 Alexander Morozevich (RUS,2760)
Magnus Carlsen (NOR,2864) 1-0 Viswanathan Anand (IND,2786)
Hikaru Nakamura (USA,2784) ½-½ Dmitry Andreikin (RUS,2713)
Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (AZE,2753) ½-½ Fabiano Caruana (ITA,2774)
Vladimir Kramnik (RUS,2727) ½-½ Sergey Karjakin (RUS,2782)
In their last game before World championship in November Carlsen scored crushing victory over Anand in 29 moves ... In this match Anand used Nimzo-Indian Rubinstein Variation, which he was using after 13 yrs and lack of practice costed him in this match ... May be Anand was avoiding to show his preparation of Openings which he will be using in their World championship matches so used this unprepared opening ... Still psychological advantage is with Carlsen after this match ... Gelfand won his match and become joined leader with Nakamura.
