(13) Srikanth K. (IND,45) bt (1) Boonsak Ponsana (THA,7) 21-16 21-12
Terrific performance by young K. Srikanth, who dominated the final and won it in 33 minutes ... This is Srikanth's first Gold GP title and definitely many more titles will come ... Mostly in next ranking update he will rise to his personal best ranking, previous was #45 in May 2013.
In the first game Srikanth take 7-2 early lead ... After that Ponsana tried hard to catch him and managed to reduce it to 1 point, 7-8, 8-9 and then 15-16 ... But Srikanth kept his focus and won next 4 points from 16-15 and converted second game point ... In the second game from 3-4 Srikanth won next 8 points to opened huge lead 11-4 and which he easily maintained till end for his big win over top-10 player to lift his first Gold GP title.
