At $350K All England Open Badminton Championships 2012, Birmingham (Super Series Premier)
[QF] (4) Saina Nehwal (IND,4) l (7) Xuerui Li (CHN,5) 13-21 21-23
Saina failed in her real first test ... Xuerui Li defeated her in straight games in 40 minutes ... In the first game whenever Xuerui take couple of points lead Saina managed to catch her but from 9-8 Xuerui won 9 points in a row to take 18-8 lead ... That lead was enough for Xuerui to won the first game ... In the second game both players were exchanging lead in the beginning ... From 12 all Xuerui opened couple of points lead ... Xuerui had 3 match points at 20-17 ... Saina won next 4 points to lead 21-20 but Xuerui saved that game point and converted 4th match point to moved into the semis.
Time is running out for Saina before London Olympics ... She need to learn tackling Chinese challenge to be in medal contention.
