In the singles, India having most players, 8, in the top-50 ... China and Japan have 7 each but our, not a single player produced any world-beater performance ... We need a lot of improvement from our players for hoping any chance in Tokyo 2020 ... The jury is out for Lakshya as his higher ranking through winning $25K tournaments ... In the women singles, Sindhu becoming a World Champion was only a bright spot ... Otherwise, forgetting year for Sindhu ... Saina's performance is on the declining and her injuries also not helping her.
Satwik and Chirag showing a lot of improvement after Satwik's 6+ months injury break ... They r currently performing like the top-8 doubles pair ... Having a lot of hopes from them ... Ashwini-Sikki looks stagnant and remains in the top-30 ... After Satwik's comeback, interesting to see how he and Ashwini perform in the mixed-doubles.
