Saina faced tough challenge in the first round from young Thai Taerattanachai ... She needed almost an hour to win this in three games ... In the first game Taerattanachai take early lead from 5-all .. She was leading 10-6 then 12-9 but Saina caught her at 12-all ... From 15-all Taerattanachai opened 4 points lead, 19-15 and won the first game after converting 2nd game point ... In the second game Saina opened 7-0 lead which she kept increasing to win this game comfortably ... In the decider Saina started with 3-0 lead ... She kept couple of points lead till 16-13 ... Saina won next 4 points to gave herself match points at 20-13 ... Taerattanachai won next 6 points saving that many match points but Saina managed to convert 7th match point for hard fought win ... Saina is having winnable second round match against Singaporean Mingtian Fu.
Kashyap faced tricky British opponent Rajiv Ouseph ... In the first game Rajiv was keeping early couple of points lead ... Kashyap caught him at 6-all, 8-all, 10-all then 11-all ... Kashyap won 4 points in a row to take 14-11 lead but this time Rajiv caught with him at 15-all and take 18-16 lead ... From 18-19 Kashyap won next three points to win the first game ... In the second game Rajiv opened 3-0 lead but Kashyap won next four points to take 4-3 lead ... From 7-all Kashyap take lead after winning next 5 points ... Kashyap again won six points in a row from 13-11 to lead 19-11 ... Kashyap converted 3rd match point and cmpleted with in 37 minutes ... Next he is facing WR #10 Yun Hu ... Yun Hu is leading 1-0 in win-loss head-to-head record but that match was in 2010.
Sindhu was behind from the start against Fanetri ... At change over Sindhu was trailing 6-11 but from here Sindhu fought back ... She came closer 11-12 but again trailed 12-15 ... Sidhnu caught with Fanetri at 15-all and take 17-16 lead ... Again Fanetri take 19-17 lead but Sindhu won next 3 points ... Sindhu failed to convert 1st game point but converted 2nd game point ...
