At The World Championship, Daegu, South Korea
Mayookha Johny failed to qualify for the finals in Triple Jump ... She finished on 10th in her group and 19th overall with 13.99 m ... She needed over 14.15 m to qualify, which was well above her personal best ... Still creditable performance from her.
Vikas Gowda qualified for the discus final in 8th place with 63.99m throw ... This is his first final appearance in the World Championships.
Mayookha Johny had qualified for the finals in Long Jump with 6.53m, at 10th position ... But disappointed result in the final where Mayookha finished 9th with a jump of only 6.40m.
Harwant Kaur came 10th in her group and 21st in the two groups (out of 24) in the discus qualification with 56.49m.
In 20km walk, Gurmeet Singh and Babubhai Panucha finished 30th & 31st.
