At The Championships Wimbledon 2008,

Mixed Doubles -
[R1] Rohan Bopanna (IND)/ Tatiana Poutchek (BLR) bt Igor Kunitsyn (RUS)/ Elena Vesnina (RUS) 64 26 64

[R2] Rohan Bopanna (IND)/ Tatiana Poutchek (BLR) vs (13) Lisa Raymond (USA)/ Simon Aspelin (SWE)
[R2] (10) Leander Paes (IND)/ Rennae Stubbs (AUS) vs Jonas Bjorkman (SWE)/ Alicia Molik (AUS)
[R2] (11) Mahesh Bhupathi (IND)/ Sania Mirza (IND) vs Igor Andreev (RUS)/ Maria Kirilenko (RUS)

Juniors -
[R1] (5) BHAMBRI Yuki (IND,7) vs TROMBETTA Ty D (USA,58)
[R1] VENKATESHA Poojashree (IND,55) vs (6) MOORE Jessica (AUS,26)

Rohan had winning start in MXD debut ... But for me saddening part was he removed his name from next week's Dublin Challenger list, where he was defending double champion ... It clearly indicates henceforth Rohan is giving more important to his doubles career ignoring singles.

At $15K Ireland F2 Futures, Limerick

[QF] Harsh Mankad (IND,669) bt (Q) Frederik Nielsen (DEN,310) 64 36 76(3)

Harsh is in sizzling form ... I was worried when match stopped due to rain break becoz at that time Harsh had momentum, he was leading 64 2-1 ... But Harsh overcame challenge of Nielsen to win match in 3rd set tie-break.

Now Harsh is in chance to capture $15K title beating top-3 seeds in this futures ... I think after Manchester challenger Harsh wouldn't need injury protected ranking to make cut in challengers.

At $10K USA F15 Futures, Rochester, NY

[QF] (8) Somdev Dev Varman (IND,793) bt (1) Artem Sitak (RUS,321) 62 62

[SF] (8) Somdev Dev Varman (IND,793) vs Bryan Koniecko (USA,827)

It looks this time Somi decided to give little respect to his opponent as top-seed ... :-)

Very heartening to see his concentration and commitment in these dominating wins where he knows he will win.
