AFC Challenge Cup Football Championship, Hyderabad, India - July 30 to August 10

Eight-nation AFC Challenge Cup football championship will be held from July 30 to August 10, 2008 ... The 2008 and 2010 editions of the AFC Challenge Cup will serve as qualifiers for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup.

Groups r declared, India is in tough group with Defending champion Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Mandeep Kaur clocked a career-best 51.80 seconds for the 400 meters while qualifying for the Beijing Olympics at the Ukrainian National Cup athletics championships in Yalta ... This performance was surprising (and create doubts) considering she shelved off 1.54 secs from her personal best in few months.

Manjeet Kaur also qualified as she also completed in 52.08s, which is well below of the Olympics qualification ‘B’ standard of 52.55 seconds.
