At 2022 World Cup Qualifiers - AFC Second Round, Doha
India vs Qatar 0-0 (0-0)
A historic and huge result for the young Indian team ... They managed to hold Asian Champion Qatarian side to a goalless draw ... Qatar was a better team on the field and they created multiple chances, Qatar had 27 shots on the goal but they failed to beat our custodian, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, who was a man of the match performer ... So it was a gritty display from Indian defense and custodian to hold them.

Three other important points:-
1. It was an away tie
2. India by virtue of the draw became the first Asian side to deny Qatar a win in 2019 on Asian soil &
3. Last but not the least, India managed to do this in an away tie in the absence of some key players like Sunil Chhetri [High Fever], Ashique
Kuruniyan [the star for India despite the home defeat against Oman -injury] & Jeje [also missing due to surgery]
A truly historic night for Indian football achieved by the young brigade. No praise would be high enough for the defenders & a special praise for Gurpreet Singh Sandhu -> the saves he made yesterday were truly world class & he rightly deserves the tag of the Great Giant Wall of India!!! Some great things in store for Indian football in future. World Cup qualification may or may not happen this time around, but the fact remains a football revolution is slowly but surely underway. The sleeping giant is finally waking up & the world better watch out for India in the years to come!!!
Well written my friend ... Totally agree with your assessment about Indian football.
