In closely contested match India beat Pakistan 4-2 in penalty-shootout to win the hockey gold at the Asian Games in Incheon after 16 years ... This win also ensures the Indian hockey team a berth at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Indian team started slowly and Pakistan take advantage scoring early lead ... In the first period Indians failed to enter in Pakistan D till end of the period ... At that time SV Sunil missed sitter in front of goal ... In the second period Indians were increasing pressure on Pakistan goal and equalized through Kothajit Singh ... In next two periods both teams played keenly contested match but failed to score despite creating numerous chances ... In the one-on-one shoot-off, our goal-keeper P R Sreejesh produced breathtaking saves to deny Pakistan's Abdul Haseem Khan and Muhammad Umar Butta ...
