Somdev started well and broke Kendrick in 4th game to take 3-1 lead but Kendrick immediately broke back to 3-2 ... Sommy again take control in 6th game and broke him in 8th game to won first set easily ... Sommy gave very dominating performance in second set ... After 1-all he won next 5 games to won match in an hour ... He broke Kendrick twice in this set and didn't face a single break point ... So good start before tough match against 3rd seed Spanish clay-court specialist Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.
