[R1] (Q) Rohan Bopanna (IND,447) bt Jose Acasuso (ARG,50) 46 63 64

[R2] (Q) Rohan Bopanna (IND,447) vs (4) Fernando Gonzalez (CHI,12)

In first set Jose Acasuso broke Rohan's service twice and Rohan managed to break Acasuso's serve once ... After losing first set in second set Rohan played almost perect service games without giving single break point ... Other hand he had 4 break point chances and converted break point in 4th game to take crucial break, which helped him to won second set to make it 1 set all ... In third set Rohan saved break point in 4th game ... And take very crucial break in 9th game after Jose Acasuso committed double fault on break point ... While serving for the match Rohan won game @ 15 to scored win in 1 hour 55minutes ... In this match Rohan had 14 aces and 4 double faults, other hand Jose Acasuso had 5 aces and 5 double faults.

This is huge win considering Jose Acasuso's current good form on hard courts ... In 2009 US hard court season Acasuso had consistent results like he reached semi-final at New Heaven and also reached third round at US Open.

Next Bops is facing 4th seed and WR #12 Fernando Gonzalez ... We don't know Bops is capable of doing anything with his form on that day ... ;-)

At $608.5K PTT Thailand Open, Bangkok

[R1] (WC) Somdev Devvarman (IND,133) l Ernests Gulbis (LAT,101) 67(7) 26

Somdev started positively breaking big server Ernests Gulbis's serve in 2nd game converting 4th break point ... After that Gulbis didn't give any break point opportunity to Somi in this set but he broke Somi in 7th game to bring back set on serve ... In tie-break both traded mini breaks and Somi had set point but Gulbis take crucial mini-break to won tight first set ... After winning first set it was one-way traffic to Gulbis, who broke Somi's serve twice to registered win in 1 hour 36 minutes.

I would say lost opportunities for Somi, who had chances but couldn't delivered it to convert it ... Somtime I feel in these condition playing qualifying can give some advantage as player get used to court condition and importantly having chance of grabbing 12 ranking points for qualifying in main draw.
