At US Open 2009, New York

[Q1] Somdev Devverman (IND,161) vs (16) Alex Bogomolov Jr (USA,133)
[Q1] Prakash Amritraj (IND,253) vs (31) Alejandro Falla (COL,159)

Our both players aren't seeded in US Open qualifying draw becoz they failed to defend ranking points which they accumulated last year ... But still decent draw for them ... If Somi wins his first qualifying round match then he can meet former top-10 Argentine Guillermo Canas in second qualifying round ... Tough match-up but if player want to move up on ladder then he need to beat these type of players.

Though expected start for Indian players in singles ... Interestingly Karan Rastogi is playing first tournament after long injury break due to shoulder surgery ... He is playing doubles with Rohan Gajjar ... They had easy winning start defeating 4th seed Dutch pair ... Vivek scored huge upset win over 4th seed Japanese opponent ... After winning first set easily Jeevan lost second set in tiebreak but in third at 6-all he retired ... He is struggling with his fitness and that's worrying considering his college stint ... I was expecting his fitness level high as he is playing at college.
