Match Report from PGA Tour -
After a couple of tight matches, the Englishman finally enjoyed a little less stress Friday in dispatching Singh. Poulter opened quickly with birdies on his first two holes and, in his words, "pretty much kept my foot down the whole way around the course." A 15-foot birdie putt on the par-4 5th put him 2 up, and Singh followed with a bogey on the par-3 sixth when he found the rough with his tee shot and couldn't get up-and down. Singh then faded with bogeys on the eighth and 10th holes, as Poulter advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since his fourth-place finish here in 2005. "I played pretty much flawless today," he said. "I executed pretty much every shot I wanted to hit. There wasn't any mis-hits out there. So I found my job very clincal today and it was nice."

At Davis Cup World Group 2010,

At last Indian team announced for their away tie against Russia from 5th March ... First time in recent years we r experiencing such late announcement of the team.

Surprisingly Yuki Bhambri left out of team, selection committee clarified that Yuki requested them to not select him for this tie as he wants to play few challengers in USA ... Frankly in last couple of months Yuki didn't play much, so he is lack of match practice ... In his place deserving Sanam Singh selected as reserve 5th player ... This is good selection as Sanam is in match practice playing with UVa, last week Virginia wins the ITA Men's Team Indoor Championship, third year in a row ... Sanam had big hand in this UVa victory ... In newly updated NCAA singles rankings, Sanam is climbed to his personal best #6 ranking.

So Indian team for Russian tie is,

Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Somdev Devvarman, Rohan Bopanna, Sanam Singh

Match report from PGA Tour - After Singh made bogey at the fifth hole, he kept a clean scorecard the rest of the way. A birdie at the par-5 eighth when he two-putted from 67 feet put him 1 up. He birdied another par-5 hole, the 13th, to go 3 up. At that point, Kuchar rallied with consecutive birdies on the next two holes. But he never gave himself a good chance the equalizer on any of the final three closing holes. "I ground it out, and I think that's what match play is all about," Singh said. "You can't lose your patience, and you have to hole those short putts. That's what I did today."

3 Tetsuji Hiratsuka JPN 71 72 68 68 -9 $18,300.00

21 yrs old Gaganjeet Bhullar produced a brilliant course record of eight-under-par 64 to win the season-opening Asian Tour International by one stroke on Sunday ... Gaganjeet started the final round six strokes behind the leader ... Gaganjeet had an eagle and six birdies for an unblemished card on final day ... Gaganjeet started with an eagle at the par five second hole when an eight iron approach stopped three feet of the flag ... He scored four more birdies to turn in 30 and added two more birdies on 15, for taking the lead, and on 18 to clinch a second title of his career.

Gaganjeet Bhullar -
"It’s amazing. I have no words to describe it, I’m totally speechless. When I woke up this morning, I just wanted to shoot a good number. I never ever thought I was going to shoot a 64 and win by one. It’s like a dream coming true. My first event of the year and winning at the start of the season will give me a lot of confidence."

“After 15 where I made a good curling putt, I told myself to make par on 16 and 17 and make birdie on 18. Everything happened the way I decided. On 18, it was amazing. I told myself that the putt was to win the tournament."

“It was a crucial one as I had missed the same putt last the two days from the nearly same line. I had a bit of an idea that it would come from the right. I just got lucky. I’m sure my confidence will go up a long way. I’m looking forward to next week (Avantha Masters). It’s a big event and I love the DLF course as I’ve won there twice (on the local circuit). Going back to play in front of the home crowd will give me a great sense of achievement."

"Last night, I was surfing the web and I clicked on asiantour.com and they had a poll “Who do you think will win the Asian Tour International” and my name was there. I clicked on my name and I had the highest votes. I told myself that it was a bit of a disappointment that I wouldn’t win as I had so many votes. But it shows that anything can happen in golf."

That break turned out blessing for them as they came out firing all cylinders ... They won second set breaking Beck and Levy in 6th game ... In super tie-break they were down with mini-break at 0-2 ... But they got double mini-break on Beck and Levy's serve to make it 3-2 ... They got another mini-break on 13th point after that Rohan served out for match winning 2 points on his serve to win match in 68 mins.

Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi -
“I think it’s a great achievement. As a team we are really, really good and we can be in the Top 10 definitely together. Today’s win definitely proves it because the chips were really down and we were able to find the solution to get back."

Rohan Bopanna -
“This win here is definitely going to help our confidence and our ranking so we will certainly play more [together] this year.”

“We started off a little tentatively. Obviously it was our third final together, which meant there was a little bit of tentativeness starting off. The rain delay helped. We spoke a little bit. We said 'We’re here to fight and win'. We came out and started winning by playing aggressive tennis, the way we do normally."

[SF] Rohan Bopanna (IND)/ Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (PAK) vs (3) Rajeev Ram (USA)/ Eric Butorac (USA)

Somi scored very dominating win over Brazilian Thiago Alves ... He won match in 67 minutes ... In first set he didn't face a single break point on his serve and broke Thiago's serve in 10th game to won it ... Second set was more dominating though he faced 3 break points on his serve but saved all and other hand he broke Thiago Alves's serve twice in 4th and 6th game ... In this set Somi only lost 14 points and won 31 points ... So next he will most probably face Spanish WR #18 David Ferrer in quarters.

Kash and Cerretani lost close match against solid pairing of Ram and Butorac ... Rohan and Aisam struggled in their quarter-final match against 2nd seed ... They lost first set when their serve got broken in 8th game ... In second set 2nd seed pair broke Aisam's serve in first game when Aisam committed double fault on break point ... But they came back strongly breaking Brunstrom and Rojer's service games to win 5 games on a row to won second set.

In super tie-break with couple of mini-breaks Bops and Aisam take early lead but Brunstrom and Rojer brought tie-break on serve at 8-7 ... Bops and Aisam saved 1 match point at 8-9 to make it 9-all.

In end looks like some controversy with Brunstrom and Rojer as our pair declared winner by Default.

From ATP Tour
