At 51st ISSF World Championship - All Events, Granada, Spain

Our shooters fail to hit targets and ended lowly in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men ... Gurpreet Singh ended on 21st with 574 pts, Harpreet Singh ended on 27th with 572 pts and favorite Vijay Kumar ended on lowly 36th with only 569 pts.

In Double Trap Men also our player fail to qualify for the final ... Mohammad Asab finished on 11th with 140 hits, Ankur Mittal finished on 16th with 138 hits and Sangram Dahiya finished on 31st with 131 pts..

Disappointing day in 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men event as Sanjeev Rajput finished on 28th position with 1167 pts and Gagan Narang finished on 32nd position with 1166 pts ... Chain Singh was finished on 42nd position with 1162 pts.

At 51st ISSF World Championship - All Events, Granada, Spain

Today our shooters were off-colors in all three events ... Favorites in 10m Air Pistol Women event, Heena Sidhu and Rahi Sarnobat finishes disappointingly on 16th and 72nd positions ... Heena scored 581 pts and Rahi scored 372 pts, Shweta Chaudhry squeezed in between on 68th position with 373 pts ... In 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women also, Lajja Gauswami ended on #16 with 583 pts ... Anjali Bhagwat finished on #47 with 575 pts ... In Trap Women event our single player fail to finish in top-30 ... Our all three shooters scored identical 67 hits for finishing on #35 Seema Tomar, #36 Shreyasi Singh and #39 Shagun Chowdhary.

50m Rifle Prone Men
6. Gagan Narang (IND) 124.2

Gagan Narang misses Olympics quota place by 0.6 points when he finishes sixth in 50m Rifle Prone Men event ... I was thinking top-6 shooters out of the 8 finalists were awarded an Olympic Quota place but in this event they awarded to top 5.

Before that Gagan finished 7th in qualifying 625.5 pts to qualify for the final ... Hariom Singh finished on #45 with 620.9 pts ... In the final Gagan became third shooter to get eliminated when his score was 0.6 pt less than 5th number shooter.

In 10m Air Pistol Men event, Prakash Nanjappa misses Olympics quota place by 1 point as all finalists receive Olympic quota as two are already secured quota in 50m Air Pistol ... Prakash and Jitu Rai were unlucky as they missed the final by a single point as both ended on 9th and 10th places respectively with 581 pts ... Om Prakash finished on #56th with 572 pts.

At 2014 World Championship, Tashkent, Uzbekistan

In Trap men event yesterday after four rounds Manavjit Singh Sandhu was tied for top position with perfect 100 score ... But today in the final round he managed 23 hits from 25 so he tied for 5th position scoring 123 hits with 7 other players ... In the qualifying for final 2 places for the final he got eliminated second ... Our other 2 players Kynan Chenai and Prithviraj Tondaiman scored 119 hits to finished on 46th and 48th respectively.

In 25m Pistol Women event our players has disappointing outing ... Anisa Sayyed finished on 14th place with 581 pts ... Rahi Sarnobat finished on 21st position with 579 pts and Pushpanjali Rana ended on 53rd position with 568 pts.

Silver - Jitu Rai (IND) 191.1 pts

10m Air Rifle Women
8 Ayonika Paul (IND) 80.9

Jitu Rai become the first Indian shooter to capture Olympics quota place for the 2016 Rio Olympics when he wins the silver at World championships ... Jitu continues with his recent golden run to win Silver in World championships ... In the qualifying Jitu Rai finished on 3rd position with 565 pts but his other 2 partners ended below in standing, #33 Gurpal Singh 550 pts and #38 Om Prakash 548 pts.

Ayonika Paul qualified for the final topping qualifying round scoring 420.8 pts, but unfortunately she was become first player to eliminate in the final. So she misses Olympics quota place .. Our other two shooters were way behind, #44 Kiranjit Kaur 412.5 pts and #67 Raj Chaudhary 410.3 pts.

At the 2014 ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol, Maribor, Slovenia


10M AIR PISTOL MEN
Gold - Jitu Rai (IND) 200.8 pts
Silver - Pablo Carrera (ESP) 198.7 pts
Bronze - Anton Gourianov (RUS) 177.2 pts

Jitu Rai is in terrific form and he won the Gold medal in the 10 m Air Pistol event in the World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia thereby winning his third World Cup medal in a span of nine days .. Jitu recently won 1 Silver medal each in the Munich and Maribor World cups in the 10 m air pistol and 50 m free pistol respectively.

Jitu qualified on 3rd position with 584/600 score ... In the final he shot 200.8 to win the Gold medal.

The 2006 World Champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu won Trap Men finals at Tucson, before this Manavjit Singh Sandhu had won his last world cup stage four years ago, back in 2010.

Manavjit Singh Sandhu beat Australia's two-time Olympic Champion Michael Diamond in the Gold medal match by 13 to 9 hits, after scoring 14 out of 15 targets in the semi-final ... The 2004 Olympic Champion Alexey Alipov finished in third place beating Great Britain's 26-year old Aaron Heading by 12 to 10 hits in the Bronze medal match ... Before that Manavjit Singh Sandhu qualified for the final on tied 2nd place with 121 hits from 125 shots.

Ayonika Paul qualified for the final of 10 m Women’s Air Rifle on 6th position scoring 417.0 pts but in the final she became 3rd shooter, who eliminated ... Still good experience of playing in the final for Ayonika Paul.

Silver - Heena Sidhu (IND) 200.8 pts
Bronze - Zorana Arunovic (SRB) 180.9 pts

6. Malaika Goel (IND) 119.4 pts

Pistol shooter Heena Sidhu won a silver medal in the 10 m Women’s Air Pistol event ... Heena was second in the qualification round with a score of 386/400 ... She shot a score of 200.8 in the final to clinch the silver medal but her last two shots weren't the perfect and Bulgarian was too good ... Young Malaika Goel also gave creditable performance as she qualified for the final and finished on 6th position ... Still good positive start for Heena and India in this World cup.

In Men's 10m Air Rifle, London Olympic Bronze medalist Gagan Narang failed to qualify for the final as he finished on 12th position.
