In the second match Harika needed victory to keep her challenge in this World Chess Cup but Stefanova used her all experience for comfortable draw ... After 12th move Harika tried variations but Stefanova didn't try anything stupid and defended well ... Match ended in a draw after 36 moves ... Still creditable performance by Harika in this tough tournament where she was seeded 12th..

After amazing escape yesterday Harika take advantage of that to upset 4th seed Chinese Xue Zhao in the quarter-final ... In the first tie-break game she defeated Xue Zhao in 33 moves playing with the Black ... In the second tie-break game Xue Zhao tried hard for comeback but Harika hold her after marathon game which ended in draw after 85 moves ... In the semis Harika is facing former women's world champion Bulgarian Antoaneta Stefanova.

Humpy started with convincing win over South African Denise Frick in the first round ... But lower rated Ukrainian Natalia Zhukova upset her in the second round ... Playing with White Humpy made blunders in the middle of the game and lost 1st game in 37 moves ... In the second game Humpy take too much risk for a win playing with Black but Natalia kept her focus and won this game also in 43 moves.

Terrific performance by our girls to finished on 4th position ... Our first top 5 finish in Chess Olympiad ... With this performance our women team is qualified for World Team Chess Championship 2013.

Also what a performance by Abhijeet and Tania to win individual medals ... First time we won individual medal in Open and Women section ... Abhijeet Gupta gets the Silver on the Fourth Board and Tania Sachdev gets the Bronze on the Third Board.

But very disappointed performance by our other men's team members and we finished on lowly 35th position.

Harika manage hard fought draw against Nguyen after 99 moves and we laboured to victory against 28th ranked Vietnam.

Negi lost playing with black against GM Ruben Felgaer in 36 moves ... Abhijeet saved a day for India after scoring hard fought win after 69 moves ... This was fouth draw in a row for Indian men ... Now they r on 14th position.

Other hand our women team missed chance of scoring all four wins ... Our all players from top three boards scored convincing win but surprisingly young Soumya lost against more than 200 points lower rated Estonian player in 44 moves ... Harika won on top boars in 41 moves ... Tania and Mary scored win in less moves ... Tania won it in 33 moves and Mary won it in 35 moves ... With this win Indian women moved to 8th position.

In women's match, on last board Soumya scored upset win over German higher rated Marta Michna in just 29 moves ... On top board Paehtz hold Harika after 35 moves ... Eesha drew after 51 moves ... Tania defeated Melanie Ohme in 56 moves and gave India much needed victory after their poor result against Chinese in the previous round ... After this win Indian women moved up to 13th position from 22nd.

But our women had disappointing one-sided loss against higher rated and top-seed Chinese team ... Only Harika managed draw against world champion Yifan Hou.
