At Asian Olympic qualifiers - Wrestling,

There were failed dope tests for couple of Asian wrestlers in the Asian Olympic qualifiers and as a result we get 2 additional quota places - One in Greco-Roman 85kg. Ravinder Khatri and women's freestyle 53 kg. Babita Kumari. That means we grab 8 quota places for Rio with 8 quotas - 3 in both men and women freestyle and 2 in Greco-Roman.

Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik win fifth and sixth Olympic quota places in Women's 48kg freestyle and Women's 58kg freestyle for India after winning Gold and Silver medals respectively ... So they r joined Yogeshwar Dutt, Narsingh Yadav, Sandeep Tomar from Men's freestyle and Hardeep Singh from Men's Greco-Roman.

In this last Olympic qualification tournament only top 2 wresters are qualifying ... So stakes were high for our women wrestlers ... In 48kg Vinesh is talented and everyone were expecting she should have qualified before ... And here Vinesh dominated her weight category from her first match ... She dominated and won in convincing fashion all four bouts against Ukrainian, German, Korean and Turkish wrestlers before qualifying for the final ... In the final her Polish opponent Iwona Matkowska gave her fight but Vinesh won this bout also convincingly.

Sakshi Malik's inclusion in the team was at last moment after Wrestling Federation took action on Geeta Phogat ... But Sakshi take full advantage of it and qualifying for Olympics ... Sakshi won her first 2 bouts against Spanish and Romanian wrestlers convincingly ... In the big Olympic qualifying match she faced strong Chinese wrestler ... Both wrestlers played attacking wrestling and match ended on 10-all ... Sakshi was declared winner as she won more continuous points than her Chinese opponent ... In the final Sakshi tried hard but her Russian opponent proved better technical wrestler ... Still creditable performance by Sakshi for winning the quota place for India.

Sandeep Tomar wins fourth Olympic quota in Men's freestyle 57 kg for India after winning Olympic wrestle-off against Ukrainian wrestler after clinching Bronze medal ... So he is joining Yogeshwar Dutt, Narsingh Yadav and from Greco-Roman Hardeep Singh.

Sandeep Tomar's participation in this tournament was controversial as Rahul Aware defeated him in trails but ahead of him Sandeep got this chance ... Sandeep started confidently beating Turkish wrestler convincingly ... In the quarter final Sandeep faced real challenge but he managed to come over Kyrgyzstan wrestler ... In the semis Sandeep was 8-6 up when 15 seconds were remaining against Azerbaijani wrestler ... But Hasanzada managed to take down him and won it on last point win criteria ... In the Bronze medal match Sandeep playing attacking wrestling and won the bout in dominating fashion within couple of minute against Moldova wrestler Chirtoacă ... Total three wrestlers were going to qualify from this group so wrestle-off happened between two Bronze medal winners ... Sandeep continued with his attacking wrestling and defeated Ukrainian Andriy Yatsenko convincingly.

From Asian Olympics qualifier only two wrestlers manage to grab Rio Olympics quota places ... As expected Yogeshwar Dutt from Men's Freestyle 65 kg and Hardeep Singh from Men's Greco-Roman 98 kg categories.

Yogeshwar Dutt dominated his all matches before getting walkover in the final from his Chinese wrestler ... Hardeep Singh also dominated Greco-Roman 98 kg category ... He won all his matches comfortably before giving walkover to his Chinese opponent in the final.
