At Davis Cup World Group 2010,

At last Indian team announced for their away tie against Russia from 5th March ... First time in recent years we r experiencing such late announcement of the team.

Surprisingly Yuki Bhambri left out of team, selection committee clarified that Yuki requested them to not select him for this tie as he wants to play few challengers in USA ... Frankly in last couple of months Yuki didn't play much, so he is lack of match practice ... In his place deserving Sanam Singh selected as reserve 5th player ... This is good selection as Sanam is in match practice playing with UVa, last week Virginia wins the ITA Men's Team Indoor Championship, third year in a row ... Sanam had big hand in this UVa victory ... In newly updated NCAA singles rankings, Sanam is climbed to his personal best #6 ranking.

As per report our boys produced fighting performance ... They kept attacking and creating chances but didnot able to convert it ... Last 15 mins we played with 10 men ... Debrata Roy, who conceded penalty early, recieved second yellow card of the match to received marching order ... In injury time umpire declined spot kick for Indians when Balwant Singh was brought down inside the box.

So with this loss Indian challenge from AFC Challenge Cup got over.
