Swimming News -

Virdhawal Khade also qualified for 50M freestyle, he clocked 23.03 seconds where Olympic qualification time was 23.13 ... He is still short of Sebastian Xavier's 22.89 seconds national record which established at the 1998 Bangalore Nationals.

Shikha Tandon won a silver medal in the 50M freestyle clocking 26.37 seconds ... This is a new National record, the old record was held by Shikha with a time of 26.50 ... But she narrowly missed out Olympic qualifying time of 26.32.

Veerdhawal has won a total of 3 gold medals with meet records in the 50M, 100M freestyle and 50M butterfly events and 2 silver (the 200, 400M freestyle) ... Sandip won 2 gold in the 100 and 200M breaststroke and a silver (50M breaststroke).

Now Veerdhawal and mostly Sandip Sejwal r planned US training before FINA World Youth Swimming Championships at Monterey, Mexico from 8th July to 13th July 2008 in preparation for Beijing Olympics.
